In Gilded Tides, UAE-based artist Reem Sultan captures the mesmerizing intersection of fluid motion and elemental opulence. Utilizing a deeply rich palette of royal blue, indigo, and reflective gold, Sultan crafts an abstract landscape that feels simultaneously aquatic and cosmic. The top tier of the canvas features a dense, lace-like lattice of metallic gold paint that splits into organic, cell-like networks. This textured mesh hovers over a deep, dark blue background, creating an immediate sensation of depth and underwater currents. As the eye moves down the composition, the rigid network yields to gravity, melting into elegant, cascading streams that mimic a heavy waterfall or shifting tectonic veins. I utilized a layering technique where different paint densities react against each other on the canvas. This creates the "cellular" or webbed effects visible at the top, allowing the underlying blues to breathe through the gold. By manipulating the canvas and letting gravity pull the metallic pigments downward, the artist creates smooth, uninterrupted vertical trails that contrast beautifully with the complex textures above. I want the viewer to see a landscape of constant motion and transformation. At first glance, one might see a waterfall or a deep-sea cavern. However, upon closer inspection, the viewer is meant to perceive the intricate, delicate balance between the dark shadows of the blue background and the radiant energy of the gold streams. The goal is to evoke a sense of calm, awe, and deep immersion in the natural world. This painting is one of the closest to me because it represents a moment of absolute creative freedom and trust in the artistic process. Fluid art requires a delicate balance between control and surrender. For me, Gilded Tides is a personal reminder of the beauty that emerges when we trust the flow of our own intuition and allow our creative energy to pour out without restriction.
Reem H. Sultan is an Abu Dhabi-based contemporary painter whose richly textured abstract works explore the fluid intersections of femininity, inner strength, and organic movement. 1. Shipping Rates and Charges
Shipping fees for UAE deliveries are displayed at checkout. For international orders, shipping fees are calculated separately based on the destination, package size, and weight, and will be communicated to you for approval before dispatch. All shipping quotes are estimates and may change based on actual dimensions, weight, carrier rates, and delivery details. Artezaar is not liable for discrepancies due to incorrect information provided by you or factors beyond our control.
2. Delivery Timelines
· UAE: Orders are typically delivered within 3-10 business days after payment confirmation.
· International: Orders are typically delivered within 5-30 days after payment confirmation, depending on destination and customs clearance. Delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed.
You will receive an email confirmation of your order and payment, and our delivery partners will contact you to arrange a convenient delivery time.
3. Billable Weight (Dimensional Weight)
Shipping costs are based on either the actual or dimensional (volumetric) weight of the package, whichever is greater. Dimensional weight is calculated by multiplying the length, width, and height of the package and dividing by a carrier-specific factor.
4. Additional Fees
Additional charges may apply for customs processing, duties, taxes, failed deliveries, returns, waiting times, address corrections, or special packaging requests. You are responsible for covering these costs unless the item is defective or not as described, in which case Artezaar will bear the cost as required by UAE consumer protection law.
If you are unavailable to receive your order after confirming delivery with the courier, and a second delivery attempt is required, an additional fee of AED 38.00 will be charged for re-arranging delivery within the UAE. This fee must be paid to Artezaar via credit card prior to re-delivery.
5. International Shipping
Artezaar offers international shipping on a best-efforts basis. Delivery times may be affected by customs delays or other factors beyond our control. You are responsible for all customs duties, taxes, and import fees in your country. Artezaar is not liable for lost or returned international shipments due to customs issues or incorrect address information.
6. Shipping Addresses
You are responsible for providing an accurate and complete shipping address. If there are address discrepancies (e.g., incomplete or incorrect address, or residential vs. commercial status), you will be responsible for any correction fees or increased shipping costs. Artezaar is not responsible for delays or non-delivery due to incorrect address information provided by you.
7. Undeliverable Shipments and Returns
If an order is returned to Artezaar due to incorrect address, failure to collect, or refusal of delivery, you will be responsible for any return shipping fees and re-delivery charges. Artezaar is not liable for the condition or handling of returned goods unless the item is defective or not as described.
8. Packaging
All items are packaged securely for safe delivery. If you require special packaging or premium void filler, additional charges may apply and will be communicated to you before dispatch.
9. Delivery Partners
Artezaar uses trusted delivery partners for all shipments. For international shipments, third-party carriers may be used. Artezaar is not responsible for carrier delays or actions once the package has been handed over to the carrier, except as required by UAE law.
