How Is a Soul Born?

"Sometimes life takes us through such stories after which you feel as if everything inside you has died. Desert, stones, bones. Everything joyful, everything living has burned out and is smoldering before your eyes. You waited, you wanted, you looked for happiness outside yourself, and you did not succeed. You died. Only the skeleton remained, the very essence remained. But it is cold and lifeless. You try to revive your past self; you yearn, suffer, and grieve, but in the end, you accept that that past self is no longer you. It's time to mourn and bury your past self. For good, it seems. The void sounds like the deep hunger of a black hole. You try to fill it with things, with people and events. But in the end, you guess that it is impossible to fill it from the outside, and, having fought for the past a little more, you grow humble. As soon as humility comes, as soon as you surrender to the nature of the Life-Death-Life cycles, this emptiness, which seemed to be a black hole, becomes a sacred emptiness in which the old, obsolete, and superfluous was annihilated, and a space arose for the new to be born. You begin to feel this new, previously unknown thing inside this emptiness. You watch, dissolving time in the moment. This space only seems to be empty. It pulsates, it moves, it continuously changes its not-yet-existing form, until it determines one that is suitable for manifesting itself as.

Like the womb of a woman carrying a child, like the core of a seed in which a new life ripens, this new thing needed a place. This new thing needed emptiness. And then, one day, a light flashes in the void. It heats the cold space and fills it with joy and warmth. Rivers of tears flow, giving moisture to the ripening seed. Rays of love are breaking through, though it is not clear where from within it begins to shine. The sun is no longer outside, it was born inside. Soon a sprout breaks out from the bones, and you welcome new life. Thus a human soul is born."
