This artwork embodies the traditional Japanese philosophy of kintsugi - the practice of repairing broken pottery with gold, transforming imperfections into beauty. In Lena’s work, this concept is reimagined by “uniting” fragments of antique kimonos with delicate layers of gold leaf, symbolizing renewal and giving the textile a second life as contemporary art. The shimmering lines of gold do not simply mend; they celebrate time’s passage and the resilience of beauty.
The piece features antique kimono fabric adorned with cranes on the left - an enduring Japanese symbol of longevity and good fortune. On the right, vintage obi (kimono belt) fabric carries the woven word “Longevity,” embedding a direct message of blessing within the textile itself. Together, these elements weave a powerful narrative of continuity, tradition, and heartfelt wishes for the owner’s long life. By merging cultural symbolism with refined artistry, Lena creates not only a visual statement but also a deeply meaningful piece that resonates with history and personal significance.

After the order has been placed, the artwork will be delivered to customers throughout the UAE within 3-5 working days.
Rest of the World
For International orders, the delivery may take 10-14 days after the order has been placed. The shipping fee will be calculated separately and communicated to you the buyer by the Artezaar Team before dispatch.
You will receive an email order confirmation and payment confirmation as soon as the order is processed. Our products are delivered using our trusted delivery partners, who will contact you to arrange a convenient time to deliver your package.
Note that if you are not available to receive the order after confirmation to the courier, and we need to arrange a second delivery, an additional delivery fee of AED 40 will be charged to you for re-arranging the artwork drop off within the UAE. The charge will have to be paid as cash to the courier company.
