Dallah Pot Mixed Media Painting
Ramadan is a holy month in the Islamic calendar, this period is considered as a time of spiritual reflection, increased prayer and devotion, and acts of charity and generosity towards others. Ramadan is also a time of celebration and community. They often gather with family and friends for Iftar meals and other gatherings throughout the month. Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, is a three-day festival that is celebrated with family, friends, and community members. On this occasion I have painted the Arabic teapot, also known as a "dallah" or "qahwah" pot, which is a traditional vessel used to brew and serve tea in many Arab and Middle Eastern countries. These teapots are typically made of metal, such as brass, copper, or silver, and feature a distinctive shape and design that is instantly recognizable.
My artwork is a mixed media work that incorporates different materials and techniques in its creation. A mixed media work on canvas, meaning that it is a piece of art created on a canvas using a variety of materials and methods. The combination of materials and techniques used in mixed media works on canvas allows for a wide range of textures, colors, and patterns, as well as the ability to layer and build up the surface of the artwork. It also provides artists with the opportunity to explore and experiment with different materials and techniques, resulting in unique and expressive works of art. I have named my artwork “Jashan”. In many Arab cultures, the act of brewing and serving tea is seen as a sign of respect and hospitality towards guests and is an important part of social gatherings and ceremonies. As such, the Arabic teapot holds a special place in the hearts and homes of many people throughout the Middle East and beyond.
