Mixed Media Painting
If silence communicates more than drama does, it is because, when the essential falls silent, the deafening noise makes the drama scream. It is not a matter of the present, but of accumulated memory; history decides the worth of the heart, whether it has a soul or not. People draw closer when they have the least to gain, and just as some wish to chat, those who previously listened to nothing suddenly appear. Whites mingle with reds, and rosés now join the celebration too. The table’s edge snaps; one stands silently upon the chair and falls in a frenzy, seeking to forget all the visions conjured when the song held no silence within it. No one sings, no one dances; the thickest string has snapped, and the middle one trembles in the wind that used to make it sound.
Nothing remains but four shadows from a time when goodness was real, and truth went unspoken because no one needed to flee from reality. Four shadows-yet only one person; three are superfluous to the one who seeks to see reality, though those three honor all that could not be transcribed in time-time that no one cared to grant the man who believed a dance might redeem him before his singer. Technical Note & Materials: This artwork is created using a unique mixed media approach. The wooden stretcher and canvas were handcrafted by myself, followed by the application of a textured stucco base that gives depth and a tactile relief to the white background. For the silhouettes, I utilized preserved artificial moss, carefully selected and applied to create an organic, three-dimensional, and living contrast against the architectural texture of the stucco. This piece seamlessly bridges woodwork craftsmanship, structural texture, and botanical art elements.
