Egyptian Bedouin

Detsy Hallock

The artist loved her time leaving in Egypt. During all the 6 years she spent in Cairo she painted different scenarios of the amazing place including people, nature, and architecture which were always present in her artwork of Egypt. The artist used to travel to the Sinai desert and camp with the Bedouins tribes. This beautiful bedouin lady was walking on the side of the road with her goats which that is very rare to see. She asked the artist for water on her way to Dahab and she stopped the car very excited to say hello and give her some water. She was amazed by the unique beauty and the amazing attire the bedouin was wearing and asked for permission to take a photo of her. She smiled and said yes! The bedouins are the oldest inhabitants of the deserts of Arabia, a semi-nomadic group of desert-dwellers who traversed the sands. These people are known for their resourcefulness and hospitality. For the artist was an honor to paint this portrait that she treasured like a gem and now she is willing to share it. This art was shaped with quality pastel pigments and pastel pencils and framed in a quality wooden brown color frame with a double mat.
