Lena Okamoto is an artist committed to reviving the beauty and depth of Japan’s traditional textiles through contemporary art. Each piece is a one-of-a-kind creation, blending authentic antique kimono fabrics with carefully selected materials that carry their rich histories.
This work draws inspiration from the elegant and diverse green palette often found in antique kimonos. The fabrics are carefully arranged to showcase the subtle variations of green, a color deeply rooted in Japanese aesthetics, symbolizing harmony, renewal, and the natural world. The piece is framed in paulownia wood, repurposed from a vintage kimono chest of drawers, adding yet another layer of cultural authenticity and historical resonance to the work.
Titled Kobachi, the artwork takes its name from a refined style of Japanese cuisine, where small dishes are artfully arranged to delight both the palate and the eye. Echoing this tradition, the composition invites viewers to appreciate not only the beauty of each fabric but also the harmony created through their careful placement. After the order has been placed, the artwork will be delivered to customers throughout the UAE within 3-5 working days.
Rest of the World
For International orders, the delivery may take 10-14 days after the order has been placed. The shipping fee will be calculated separately and communicated to you the buyer by the Artezaar Team before dispatch.
You will receive an email order confirmation and payment confirmation as soon as the order is processed. Our products are delivered using our trusted delivery partners, who will contact you to arrange a convenient time to deliver your package.
Note that if you are not available to receive the order after confirmation to the courier, and we need to arrange a second delivery, an additional delivery fee of AED 40 will be charged to you for re-arranging the artwork drop off within the UAE. The charge will have to be paid as cash to the courier company.
