Radka Gicheva is a Dubai based abstract artist originally from Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Her artistic journey began at an early age, guided by a deep passion for painting and creative expression. She developed her foundation through formal art training in her hometown, later continuing her artistic growth after moving to the United Arab Emirates.
Since 2017, Radka has been part of the Dubai International Art Centre, where she explored classical oil painting, palette knife techniques, and contemporary abstract art. Her work has been featured in several group exhibitions, reflecting her evolving style and connection to the local art scene.
Working primarily with acrylic and oil on high quality cotton canvas, Radka creates intuitive, layered compositions inspired by nature, light, and organic forms. A defining element of her work is the use of natural and recycled materials such as sand, leaves, fabric, and found objects, carefully integrated to build rich textures and depth. This sustainable approach not only reduces waste but also brings a tactile, authentic quality to each piece.
Abstract art remains her true language, allowing her to express emotion beyond words. Her artworks invite the viewer into a sensory experience where texture, color, and movement come together to tell a unique and deeply personal story.
