Abstract Acrylic Painting

The colors of this painting remind me of a cool morning by the sea, bringing memories of days long gone… since I married, many summer days were spent by the Spanish seaside. The days were slow as the sun kissed my skin and I still remember the boat trips along the coast, the smell of the salty breeze tickling my nose, and the taste of moms cooking filling my heart. I remember my daughters’ first vacations by the sea… the music, the smells, the voices of children playing and running around.

Later my girls would join them, and it filled my heart to see them happy. As the years slipped away I lived far away from the Mediterranean sea, yet I remain longing for the peace it created within my soul. As an artist trying to evolve, I wanted to paint something abstract and I found that I really like this combination of colors and working with it brought back very beautiful memories. Painting abstracts is not as easy as it seems, it was challenging for me to learn which colors work nicely with each other, to give movement to the painting and create an appealing composition.
