Meg Ryan is an American actress, famous for starring in some of my favourite movies, including: “Innerspace”, “Sleepless in Seattle”, “When Harry Met Sally”, “You got an Email” and “French Kiss” etc. Growing up she was one of my favourite actresses. Not only was she a symbol of beauty but also had a great sense of humor, her big smile evoked joy and liveliness. In 1995, critic Richard Corliss named Ryan "the current soul of romantic comedy." She is also known for her versatile facial gestures. She can show the saddest emotions or make you laugh so much with her funny expressions. Many of her movies are comedies but she has participated in serious dramas such as “When a Man loves a Woman” or “Proof of Life”. For all of the above reasons, I was inspired to paint her portrait. In this painting she stands in a vibrant background that compliments the violet and rouge tones of her silk blouse. This is an oil on canvas painting.
